DAI 505: Research and Development is a senior capstone Course for all DAI graduating seniors. The class is designed for seniors to demonstrate what we have learned in our major. The objective is to solve a problem chosen from within our individual chosen fields of study. This is a “Problem” based class, not a “Project” based class. Each of us are expected to conduct all phases of development from initial research, conceptualization leading to prototype development, evaluation and cost analysis. The objective is to learn how to develop creative, practical solutions that satisfy the needs of real world clients. Through direct experience it is expected that students will discover how design can make a positive contribution to community and social development.
